Directions
We recommend using GPS navigation for the most current directions. Please be aware that some apps may suggest scenic routes through narrow, winding mountain roads. These roads are beautiful on a clear day but can be challenging at night or during inclement weather.
From Albany:
Take Interstate 88 West toward Binghamton and remain on the highway until Exit 17 (Cooperstown). From there, follow Highway 28 North for approximately 17 miles into Cooperstown.
From New York City and Points South:
You may travel through the Catskills via various scenic state routes, though cell service can be limited and roads may be narrow and winding. For a more direct and reliable route, take Interstate 87 North to Albany, then Interstate 88 West to Exit 17 (Cooperstown), and follow Highway 28 North for 17 miles.
From Syracuse and Points West:
For a scenic drive, take Highway 20 East and connect to Highway 28 South in Richfield Springs.
For a faster route, take Interstate 90 (NY Thruway), exit at Mohawk, and follow Highway 28 South toward Cooperstown, approximately 25 miles.
